ABOUT ME
I’m Imogen, founder of Fizz in the City and an eternal romantic when it comes to wine.
Although my career has taken me through the intricate world of food and drink, working for big names in the industry like Tesco, Sainsbury’s and WGSN, I now focus on the wine and sparkling category for a large UK-based procurement business.
For me, wine is more than a drink; it’s a ritual. I’m captivated by the history behind it - the centuries-old traditions, the connection to place, and the unique stories each bottle carries. Few moments are as iconic as the pop of a cork, a sound that instantly evokes celebration, joy, and the start of something special.
Outside of work, I’m pursuing my WSET Diploma, a journey that deepens my understanding of the craft and lets me share my knowledge with others. Writing has become an extension of my love for wine - an opportunity to reflect, explore, and, most importantly, help decode the sparkling world for everyone.
You’ll often find me enjoying London’s vibrant restaurant and wine bar scene, searching for wine lists that are broad, varied, and always focused on quality. I adore dressing up for a night out, but I also love the relaxed charm of a casual setting, as long as the wine is worth the moment. My philosophy is simple: savour the best, enjoy in moderation, and wake up ready to do it all over again.
Fizz in the City is my way of celebrating the magic of sparkling wine, from the artistry in the vineyard to the thrill of the first sip.
